Price per link (not per teeth). In the photo of the product you can see it more clearly.
For example: if you want to buy a chain of 55 links, you must add 55 units to the cart.
Stihl chainsaw chain. Cut to measure by links.
How do I know which chain to order for my chainsaw?
In order to buy a chain for your chainsaw, you need to know the following information about your chain:
• Chain pitch.
• Number of drive links
• Gauge or thickness of the link (in millimeters)
THE CHAIN PITCH
It can be found by measuring the distance between three rivets in millimeters.
• Chain pitch 1/4″ = 12.70mm
• Chain pitch .325″ = 16.50mm
• Chain pitch 3/8″ = 18.64mm
• Chain pitch .404″ = 20.52mm
LINK GAUGE.
Measure with a gauge, in millimeters, the thickness of the drive link (the one that goes inside the bar and is shaped like a shark fin). There are 4 measures:
• 1.1mm (.043″)
• 1.3mm (.050″)
• 1.5mm (.058″)
• 1.6mm (.063)
NUMBER OF DRIVE LINKS.
Count the number of drive links (they are the ones that go inside the rail of the bar and are shaped like a shark fin), not to be confused with the cutting teeth which are the ones that go above the bar.
IN SOME CHAINSAWS, IT IS ENOUGH TO LOOK AT THE INSCRIPTION THAT IS ENGRAVED ON THE SWORD.
With the green arrow we see the number of drive links, in red the chain pitch and in blue the thickness of the link.
